A consultation document has been published by HMRC looking at ways to improve the operation of the construction industry scheme (CIS) for smaller businesses and to introduce compulsory on-line CIS filing for contractors.
The consultation document sets out proposals for simplifying and improving the compliance and turnover tests which will enable more subcontractors to access gross payment status.
